HO Scale Desert Layout Project  -  24-3
It is time for an update on my HO layout (after 8 years)

(just click on the 4-digit number for bigger size photos)
As usual, I am taking a huge amount of photos from a scene to show a lot of different views.

Percyville  -  Extension (Office 1)   24-3

The City of Percyville (the name is in memory of my "layout cat" Percy) got an extension. Just after the Werner Enterprises Terminal is a combined road/rail bridge. There was a RR-Xing with a dead end street (no continuation). So, I used the space above an office corpus. The size is just 43 x 72 cm but I will be able to extend the street by 72 cm and place 3 buildings along that street. On one side is a Domino's Pizza and a Denny's restaurant (both from Summit USA). On the other side is a used car dealer "Best Deal Auto". This particular structure was custom made by Pelle Soeeborg. In real life, it is a Ford Dealership in the town of Mojave, CA. Take a look - click here .

This Extension was a logical project to expand Percyville with addtl. businesses.   WL-3391

To be honest, when I went to Southern California, Denny's was keeping my alife with food.   WL-3393
This car dealer is having lots of muscle cars from the 60's and 70's.   WL-3394
As mentioned above, I was able to purchase "Best Deal Auto" from Pelle Soeeborg's Daneville Layout.   WL-3677
Pelle built this car dealer building from scratch. In other words, it is a one of a kind.   WL-3403
I sure made handicapped parkings wherever possible.   WL-3405
I wonder if the sales man was able to sell this Cadillac 16 to this couple?   WL-3404

Legendary Hill 582 in Cajon Pass (Office 2)  24-5

On my layout, my miniature version of Hill 582 was turned by 90 ° because of space limitations.  WL-3663
But with some imagination, we feel like being in the Mojave Desert (Cajon Pass) and dreaming of the real thing.  WL-3540

The Mormon Rock formations are along Highway 138. UP (former SP) and BNSF tracks are passing.  WL-3510

Overview of the layout (each square is 0,5 m)

I started with my layout in late December 2007 and it was finally finshed in late September 2015.
In the meantime, I made some detailing with city signs, billboards, figures, vehicles etc.
