HO Scale Mojave Desert Layout - is finished

Featuring Cajon Pass w/Hill 582, Mormon Rocks, WSI and Flyover
(incl. Werner Enterprises Terminal and the City of Percyville)

I started with my layout in late December 2007 and it is finally finshed in late September 2015.
Well, I will add some detailing, weathering of the roads, road signs and street railings along main street in Percyville.
Thank you for your interest in my Mojave Desert Layout - Werner Meer

Technical Data

Size: 4,5 x 6,5 m (14,75 x 21,3 feet), Era: Modern, Location: Southern California in the Mojave Desert (Cajon Pass), Layout Style: unconventional, in house along the walls, 2 swing up bridges, 1 lift out bridge, double track, min. radius 104 cm (41 inch), max. grade 1,5 %, Track: Atlas flextrack code 100, Turnouts: Peco code 100, Power: conventional DC with electrical feeders every 2 m, Mainline: 32 m (105 feet), Height: 93 cm (36,6 inch)

I was building an HO scale layout at home (inside the flat). The basic idea came thru my travelling in Southern California starting from 1974 up to 2005. Within these 30 years, my favourite place became Cajon Pass and the Mojave Desert. It should reflect the modern era. I am very strong inspired by the fantastic layout of Pelle K. Soeeborg (Denmark): Mountain to Desert. Pelle is really a master model builder, especially the town of Daneville which looks like Mojave, CA. To realize something like that, we are happy to have Per Laursen of Summit USA, who is producing modern building kits.
I was very lucky to get 4 buildings from Pelle Soeeborg from his Daneville layout: ARCO Gas Station, Denny's, KFC and Best Deal Auto.
First, Reto Frick made a scale model in 1:10 out of cardboard. Afterwards, he built the whole wooden frame work in his carpenter shop.
So, I was able to start building this layout in December 2007. - You can see the progress of my layout on 14 diff. pages (see below).
Finally, my layout was finished in October 2015 as you can see on page 15 - 19.

Reto Frick, who built the complete wooden framework of my layout, has now his own website: http://www.goldenfiftiestrains.ch

Below are photos of my HO layout under construction on 15 different photo pages
