The Dream of Cajon Pass |
Werner Meer is going to rise the American West at home |
Kilchberg: - The hole, that the Kilchberg citizen WM cut with a jig saw in the wall, was an absolute must. The freight trains of his California RR had to pass thru the wall from Cajon Pass in one room to the village in the Mojave Desert in another room. The way is going thru the door, between the show cases in the passage and thru that particular hole. WM is rising scenery and RR lines of the American West in 1:87 scale in his home - generous as he says. As everything is generous in the States (U.S.). The streets, the parkings, the Roadside Restaurants and Motels, which Meer likes while traveling in the States. Generous is also the wife, Meer says, as she gave him permission to built it in the flat. WM is selling models and accessories for 32 years - he is the specialist for HO Models. With these possibilities he is at the source to work on his long term project: to rebuild the RR lines of Cajon Pass as accurate as possible. Meer is trying to include all scenery and line changes in his project. Friends in California are sending him photos whenever something is going on in the Pass. Meer's RR-Dreams are defined on a space of 4,5 x 6,5 meters. Here, he is planting trees, putting figures and building roads. On his layout are plenty roads, says the keen car driver. And along the streets are Roadside Restaurants. |
