For the 15th
CV, Loki Theme 2 will be published. A: Together with the 15th and Final Convention and 31 years of building up the American Railroadfans in Switzerland, "Verlag Lokpress AG" will publish a special issue (Loki Theme 2) devoted to the Swiss US-Scene with top information and great photography in German language. It will cover topics of the US prototype and US Model RR scene as well. It will be done in co-operation with Jürg Lütscher (Author), Bruno Kalberer (Editor of LOKI) and Dani Hunziker (Layout by Mags and More GmbH). B: As a rememberance for our 15th and Final CV, we will produce a CV-Movie on DVD. We were able to hire a pro film maker, Thomas Egger of Egger Film. On this film, there will be pictures of building up the show and both CV days with each and every item, diorama, layout on display and the other activities. On October 16, we went to the 3rd German
US-Convention in Rodgau (Frankfurt, Germany). We are happy to see, that the German US-Convention was well established. (official website) We sure met a lot of people and several exhibitors were asking to participate at our 15th convention. Many people asked us, will it really be the final CV? We are sorry to say yes, but it is true. We also met Pelle Soeborg of Denmark and he confirmed his attentance at our 15th CV with clincis. We are thrilled to have the best model layout builder (master of landscaping) at our CV. (official website) I was able to talk to Frank Angsted (CEO of Intermountain Railway Co.). He will (if his health will remain as it is today with 76 years) participate with a booth and in addition, he will make a presentation about his company and the far east builders. After all, I understand what happened in China with Sando Kan and Kader. (official website) Intermountain Railway Co. will not partizipate at the 15th Convention. The NMRA (USA) formed a new division: the Atlantic District. It is hosted in Europe by Alain Kap. (www.nmraatlantic.org). There were 2 gentlemen of the British Division with a booth. They confirmed their appearance at our 15th CV. Rolf Stumpf (Rail Media) will again have a booth. Starting in 2012, Peter Federmann will publish an online Magazine "Ameri Bahner", written in German (www.ameribahner.com). He will have a small booth or just run an ad in our CV-Guide. This "new" exhibitor has been aquired by Beat Wüest. Therefore, we can tell, to go all the way to Frankfurt Germany (450 km), it was worth and positive for our forthcoming event. I thank everybody for their support. It is highly appreciated. |

By the way, the 14th Convention attracted more than 3300
visitors and it reflects an increase of 20 %. No question, it was a great
success with special guests from the USA: George W. Kohs of Kohs &
Company, Inc. (high end brass models producer) and Mike Wolf of
M.T.H. Electric Trains (one of the biggest producers of HO, O and 1/32
scale models). |

For this occasion, we will produce the 15th Convention Guide. A very important tool (magazine size) with approx. 92 pages on high quality paper for good reproduction of photos. It lists all diff. programs, activities and describes all modules, dioramas and layouts (incl. plans & photos). In addition, there will be reports regarding the main theme. As we (American Railroadfans in Switzerland) are a non-profit group without any membership fees, the costs for the guide will be covered thru advertisers, but the advertising rates are in a reasonable range (rates sheet available on request). As this guide will be mailed to all previous registered visitors (approx. 3000) at no cost in early September 2012, it will reach the potential American Railroader or Railfan in Switzerland and all over Europe. As our 15th CV-Guide will be not just a simple program booklet, but an important information source, it will be consulted not only during the convention period but often for a rather long time afterwards. There is no question, it would be a great opportunity for you to run an advertisement in our guide as you will be able to reach the interested American Model Railroader in Europe.
