Hill 582 (8) - along Route 66 - Bonus Photos |
| This time, I took photos (5500) from these locations: Summit, Silverwood, WSI,
Hill 582, Alray
(former Tunnel area), Mormon Rocks, Stein's Hill, around Highway 138, Sullivan's Curve,
Cajon Station, old Route 66 (Cajon Blvd.), Swarthout Canyon Road and finally San
Bernardino. As I went to several overlooks high above, I was trying to
take photos from far away. Not every photo was good because of the long distance,
haze and the heavy wind. Please note: As a train does not only exist of the locos but all the cars, I made plenty photos of the different cars (incl. graffiti). I also visited the Fontana Terminal of Werner Enterprises trucking company. Hill 582 (Visit No. 8)

Day 15 is the last day of my 2011 visit to Cajon
Pass. It is the day to say goodbye to my good friends, Don E. Toles, Gary G.
Gray and Marc Fournier. Of course, we met each other on Hill 582.
Afterwards, we went for lunch to Molly Brown's Country Cafe in Hesperia.
(249 pics) When I arrived on Hill 582 at 07.17 h, there was a WB Intermodal Train going uphill on MT-3. Surprise, there was a Werner Trailer in between. |
