Hill 582 - Part 1 |
Hill 582 is the "paradise" for the railfans. It is located between
BNSF MT-3 (South Track) and BNSF MT-2 and MT-1 (North Tracks). In addition the
UPT is just above the BNSF Main 1 & 2. In other words, we have 4 tracks for
almost unlimited activities. A big thank you goes to Don E. Toles and his friends for taking care of this "one of a kind oasis" in the middle of Cajon Pass. For more in deep information of Hill 582, we have 3 pages incl. the History of Hill 582 "The Early Years" and "The Late Years" written by Don E. Toles. Even a description w/photos "How to Acces Hill 582" can be found on the Hill 582 Main Page. Take a look - you will be impressed - click here |

Hill 582 got its name from Milepost - MP 58.2X. The signs from the old signal 582A, the X, W and G have been saved by Don E. Toles and his friends and are now on display together with the other memorials on the Hill. Saturday, May 29, 2010: First, we make a short tour on the Hill to give an idea how it looks.
