Just being
out here is a treat, let alone seeing a rare passenger train move across the
landscape. |

| New 6/03/2026: BNSF Business Train with #1776 and #2026 from Missoula, MT to Cocolalla, ID |
| A very long chase of BNSF’s business train, all the way from Missoula, Montana to Cocolalla, Idaho. Due to maintenance on the MRL 4th sub, I was able to have the rare opportunity to see it going west up the MRL 10th sub through Dixon. These are just most of the shots, but had to skip a few because of instagrams 20 photo limit. (This is also being auto-posted to Facebook, thanks for saving me time devs) – Alex Hieb |

| Video by Voyager Ventures, 30'16": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFZi6XRUzAs |
| Today, we experience not one, but 2 once in a lifetime events! Featuring the BNSF 250th American Themed Locomotives on their Employee Appreciation Special Train which head westbound on MRL's 10th Subdivision, which is pretty rare as eastbounds tend to be the only trains to go on the 10th Sub! This train is touring all around their system, mostly in the west! We chase them into Missoula, Montana, all the way west into Sandpoint, Idaho, and just a bit west of there! |

| New 6/07/2026: BNSF 250th Special passing Sumner, WA and Tacoma, WA |
| I was not going to post any of these since a lot of people have already. I guess I will post a few that I took this late afternoon or early evening. The first location is in Sumner at MP 28. Those flags where really flapping and making a lot of noise as the train went pass. The next set was taken at Tacoma off of the D Street overpass. I probably at my age should not be running across the bridge and climbing up the railing separating the sidewalk from the street. I survived and was able to get the whole train in on frame. Here' is my
favorite view of the O-KLFSTO8.
I captured the train approaching the Stampfli Lane crossing. - at Crescent Mills, CA |

| A few miles down the road, I joined the large crowd and captured the head end of the train crossing the Indian Falls trestle. - at Keddie, CA |
![]() |
| I just couldn't let the rear of the train cross the trestle without photographing it, could I? - at Indian Falls, CA |
![]() |
| When the crowd arrived at the Keddie Wye, we all hoped that the sun would still be high enough for good lighting as the train crossed the trestle. Although relatively brief, the delay caused by the crew change was enough to allow the sun to dip behind the mountain. When I lost the good lighting, I elected to shift my position for this vertical view of the train, crossing the trestle and approaching the tunnel portal. - at Keddie, CA |

Feather River
Video by Railfan Dan Productions https://www.facebook.com/reel/1327763542756614 |
| I made a trip down to the Sierra Nevada to capture the very special BNSF employee appreciation train featuring two of the new 250th anniversary locomotives. The first ever special painted units by the BNSF! Lots of railfans were out to capture this very unique train in one of the most scenic sections it ran. These are some of the highlights taken on The Gateway and Feather River Canyon between Indian Falls and Cresta. Great to see some friends out there as well. June 15, 2026 |
