We celebrated America’s unrelenting drive for exploration, ingenuity and
creativity while honoring our rich history. That spirit begins right here in
our own backyard at Northrop Grumman, where the most powerful rocket
boosters for human flight ever constructed are helping keep America at the
forefront of innovation and space exploration. |

Wow, Cool Picture! The Magazine Editor Paul Graf of N Scale Enthusiast Organization caught the "Artemis Special" leaving the Morton Thiokol Plant in Corinne Utah heading for KSC and the next Solid Booster flight. Its interesting that they are running spacer cars between each section now. Photo copyright by Paul Graf. |

| On June 3, 2026, Union Pacific GE ET44AC No. 4547, EMD SD70M No. 1616, and GE AC4400CWM No. 5882 powered a Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) train for NASA's Artemis III mission that is slated to launch sometime next year from Cape Canaveral, Florida. This is the final move of SRBs from the Northrop Grumman Corp. facility in Corinne, Utah, for Artemis III as assembly will begin over the summer. The train can be seen eastbound at Milepost 460, about three miles west of Bushnell, NE, along US Highway 30, known as the Lincoln Highway (Photo 1). The Artemis III mission will launch four astronauts and test the systems between the Orion spacecraft and landers from either SpaceX, Blue Origin, or both. This will set the stage for Artemis IV in 2028 where four astronauts will head to the moon and perform the first moon landing since Apollo 17 in 1972. Photo copyright by John Crisanti |
