After our Hill 582 visit, my Swiss friend Michael Frei and me went to Silverwood. When we arrived there, a BNSF WB was coming down and we did not have time driving up on the lookout point. Therefore, we took photos from the ground level. | |

I started early morning my train spotting above Summit looking West toward Hill 582 etc. I used a powerline road North of Summit. But the first 4 pictures have been taken from Summit overlook. Afterwards, I went down to USFS 3N45, crossing BNSF MT-3, going under BNSF MT-1 and MT-2, crossing UPT (Palmdale cutoff), making a right turn, driving along UPT and before Summit (Hiland) go uphill on a powerline road. | |

Here I am showing lots of details about WSI (West Summit Island). Pictures on top and around WSI. As already mentioned, Jerry is maintaining WSI (incl. watering of the bushes, protection with RR ties around the platform and tree truncks to sit on it). WSI is located at EBCS Silverwood between BNSF MT-2 and MT-3. It is slightly elevated and the perfect spot for railfanning. | |
